SovEcon, a leading Black Sea grain consultancy, has updated its forecasts for Ukraine’s 2024 grain production and exports, increasing its corn crop and export estimates.

SovEcon, a leading Black Sea grain consultancy, has revised its 2024 Russian grain crop forecasts. The total grain crop forecast has been increased due to higher estimates for wheat and barley, while the corn production forecast has been significantly lowered.

In Brazil, the corn market faces challenges with a forecasted 16% decrease in production due to area reduction.

Global wheat production in 2023/24 is tentatively projected to retreat from the prior year’s record level amid a pullback in harvested area and yields, including a drop in the eight major exporters, the International Grains Council (IGC) said. The IGC saw global wheat production falling to 787 million tons from 801 million tons in the prior season.
