“World Pulses Day” formalized

Hüseyin Arslan, the President of the Global Pulse Confederation, announced that February 10 has been declared the “World Pulses Day” after negotiations with the United Nations.

bakliyatgunuHüseyin Arslan, President of the Global Pulse Confederation (GPC), spoke at the congress held by GPC and Canadian Special Crops Association (CSCA) on July 10-13, 2017 in Vancouver, Canada, and announced February 10 to be declared the “World Pulses Day” after negotiations with the United Nations. GPC President Arslan spoke at the congress which hosted 1,127 delegates from 55 countries, and said, “Member countries in the GPC have organized various events for the World Pulses Day in the last two years.” Arslan, who has been re-elected for another 2 years during the polls, held on July 10 by the GPC, commented on the formalization of the pulses day: “As a result of intense negotiations with the United Nations (UN), 2016 has been declared the International Pulse Year. GPC saw this process as a unique opportunity to ensure pulses get the deserved importance and recognition, and we held 225 events in 63 countries in addition to social media campaigns which reached millions of users. One of our objectives is to ensure that ‘World Pulse Day’ is recognized and celebrated by the UN in the coming years. After intense negotiations, this has been achieved. From now on, 10th of February will be celebrated as the ‘World Pulse Day’ all around the world.”
