02 April 20262 min reading

Imas, a leading Turkish manufacturer and turnkey solution provider in grain and feed milling technologies, has signed its third flour mill project with Iraq-based Mokhalad Group, further expanding its presence in the Middle East.

After completing Mokhalad Group’s first 500 tpd flour mill investment in Iraq, which has been operational since the end of 2024, Imas signed two additional repeat orders for new 500 tpd flour mills in July and August 2025. Both projects are expected to be commissioned by the end of 2026.

With all three projects combined, the total investment represents an annual wheat processing capacity of approximately 500,000 tonnes. The repeat orders underline Mokhalad Group’s confidence in Imas’ manufacturing, engineering and project management capabilities.

LONG-TERM PARTNERSHIP IN FLOUR MILLING

Commenting on the agreement, Imas Sales and Marketing Director Muhammed Uzun said the company was pleased to support Mokhalad Group’s expansion in flour milling. “We extend our best wishes to Mokhalad Group for continued success in its new investments,” Uzun said. “As the Imas team, we are proud to be part of our customer’s growth plans and hope to continue our long-term partnership in future projects.”

FIRST PROJECT ALREADY OPERATIONAL IN TIKRIT

The first project completed by Imas for Mokhalad Group is a 500 tpd flour mill in Tikrit, in Iraq’s Salah Al-Din region. The facility has been in operation since the end of 2024 and is equipped with advanced automation technology. The milling section was designed as two independent 250 tpd units, producing bakery flour and all-purpose flour for domestic consumption. The plant is managed through an end-to-end automation system covering the process from wheat intake to flour packaging. According to Imas, the integrated automation architecture provides centralized process management, improved transparency, advanced reporting and remote access features.
