More decision makers are turning to machines with automated controls to improve results, planning and traceability. The technology allows workers to focus on higher value work, but requires proper know-how, design and governance to boost the business. Cimbria has automation experts offering a high level of full-service support.

Cimbria
Since 1975, Cimbria has developed and integrated effective and reliable control systems into projects to set, manage and check operation processes. These control systems have become increasingly automated and capable of being managed remotely. Today, a powerful central PLC system can manage a single machine, a production line or the entire production plant.
The control and automation system supplied by Cimbria combines in-house manufactured equipment with thorough expertise on crops, processes, technologies and systems to deliver the right solution for our customer’s operation. Cimbria process control and automation systems ensure homogeneous and confident production at all times. However, supplying control and automation system integration means more than simply delivering and installing the electrical equipment. Our understanding of the process, the machinery and the electrical requirements enables us to supply customised solutions with built-in process knowhow.
In fact, machine automation requirements vary between, and within, different industries due to the wide variety of application-specific stipulations and requirements. This applies to the seed industry, grains, pulses, plastics, bulk materials and port terminals.
No matter the business and the size of the client, by starting with their plant installation and ERP system, we can design and supply a control system that collects and distributes information between product, system and machinery for optimized plant performance. From standard software, we can design a safe and flexible processing system that meets the requirements of each individual client.
We strive to be reliable and responsive to make our customer’s lives simpler and easier both during the project and after completion. Our expert staff of technical and electrical engineers, PLC programmers and skilled service personnel ensure that your project will be completely integrated and will coordinated all functions and components.
With our experience we are able to serve our customers in a way that they benefit from our automation for a multitude of reasons.
A full turnkey integrated solution. For every automation project, we provide our customers with specific expertise about their system and the benefit of our expert knowledge gained over 70 years. We are consultants and partners with a vision for the future of their business and are able to program our machines for nearly any situation.
Turn-key customers get full, automated control of the entire plant and peace-of-mind because the system is a fully integrated package, from plant design to electrical panels and signs. Our equipment expertise and our understanding of our customers’ needs allow us to act as a full system integrator and connect our automation system with our own machines or third-party equipment. This simplifies the process with only one account, one point of responsibility and one contact for the entire project.
Competent in-house project team. Cimbria has a dedicated team of engineers developing automation projects around the world. They are supported by our international solution delivery team of technical specialists, product managers and designers, based in Denmark, Austria, Italy, Kenya, Russia and other countries who search for the best solutions to meet our customers’ needs and deliver tailor-made projects.
High quality platform based on standardised software. The plant’s machinery and equipment are controlled by PLC systems adapted to the size and configuration of the supplied system. With a starting point in standard software, we design a safe and flexible processing system that meets the requirements of the individual client.
Cimbria’s turnkey contracts include PLC and SCADA for process control and electrical panel installations, such as main distribution panels (MDP), power-factor correction panels and motor starter panels (MCC). Our in-house electrical engineers not only have expertise in the complete design and execution of electrical facilities and process control, but are also able to adapt and design systems with new or existing machinery.
Traceability. Cimbria ensures it remains at the cutting edge of data acquisition by providing computer systems which, in conjunction with weighing machines and SCADA systems, can log, store and process material transaction data to and from storage facilities, as well as additions and partitioning during the production process.
Grain traceability is becoming increasingly important to maintain value. A well-tested and stable database system is normally built in Microsoft SQL. Logging is typically done using a barcode system, but other systems such as RFID systems are also available.
Increased plant performance with lower energy consumption. Climate change, rising energy prices and limited resources for fossil fuels compel us to utilise energy better than ever before. For many years, Cimbria has been working to minimise energy consumption to secure a cleaner environment and save money for our customers. Our efforts to develop more advanced automation solutions support this mission. Machines driven by artificial intelligence maximize processing results, minimize downtime, operate efficiently and extend machine life. Additionally, automation after-sales service can be performed virtually, which reduces CO2 emissions by eliminating technician travel.
A full range of services: Efficient after-sales service minimises downtime and production losses. Cimbria has distinguished itself by offering exclusive after-sales service, providing the customer with well-qualified assistance at all times. Online service, onsite service, remote support, documentation and training are all included. Today, our service portfolio is enriched with real-time remote assistance using smart glasses. Smart glasses are a new tool allowing our customers to receive remote support from expert technicians in real time, receiving the necessary assistance anywhere in the world. Response times are improved and any machine downtime is reduced. Smart glasses lead to a faster, more effective solution. In-house and field staff also benefit from on-the-job training opportunities to gain deeper understanding with direct interaction with machines. We are dedicated to continuous improvement and have established Cimbria testing and training centres for the education and the instruction of all personnel who work with our systems on a daily basis. The training centres offer both general courses and individually designed courses that are customised to quality personnel for the commissioning, operation and maintenance of systems.
What makes Cimbria different is our experience. Our knowledge gained over 70 years in the industry and our commitment to working side-by-side with our customers helps us limit machine downtime, improve uptime. We are always focused on process improvement and making simpler user interfaces, so our operators feel more comfortable with our systems. This is our attitude, our mission and the value we bring to all of our customers around the world - to be an Expert at their side.
