The Aeroglide division of Bühler, Inc. was awarded its fifth consecutive Safety Award of Merit from the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association, an organization that advocates for the growth and sustainability of the North American metal processing, forming and fabricating industries. Bühler’s safety record reported for 2017 comprised only three recordable minor injuries and one lost-time accident. The company’s Total Recordable Incident Rate compared to the most recent American Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recordable rate for applicable industry contractors was calculated at 1.9 versus an industry average of 3.2. The award is presented to companies posting an injury and illness incidence rate for calendar year 2017 that is better than the published Bureau of Labor Statistics rate by 10 percent or greater, based on the North American Industry Classification System code. “We are pleased to receive this award for the fifth consecutive year, but this is also something we’ve come to expect. We’ve developed a strong commitment to safety awareness during the past few years, with training and professional development that has increased workforce engagement, while recognizing an inclusiveness of all employees,” says Michael Moses, Buhler-Aeroglide’s quality/safety manager. Bühler Aeroglide manufactures dryers, ovens, roasters, toasters, and hot air expansion systems for the food, feed, and industrial product markets. Aeroglide is headquartered in Cary, NC, and provides sales and service for its industry-leading equipment in more than 140 countries around the world.
