Panama, one of the world’s wettest countries, is grappling with an alarming drought that has cast a shadow over global trade. The shortage of rainfall has led to critically low water levels in the iconic Panama Canal, causing significant disruptions to international shipping routes.

In its fourth forecast for the 2022 crop, grain industry group COCERAL sees the total grain crop in the EU-27+UK at 287.9 million tons. This would be down significantly from the 309.8 million tons harvested in 2021.

Grain Craft, the largest independent flour miller in the USA, announced that its parent company has entered into a definitive agreement for Grain Craft to be acquired by Redwood Capital Investments, LLC. Transaction terms were not disclosed.

Amid the Russian invasion, Ukraine declared sowing campaign. Ukrainian authorities forecast that 70% of the arable land will be cultivated.
