Russia seized 48 tons of rice

Exported to Russia from Turkey, 48-ton basmati was seized in St. Petersburg for missing documents. At the port of St. Petersburg that is in the north of Russia, Federal Plant Protection and Quarantine Service (Rosselhoznadzor) authorities seized total 48 tons of basmati imported from Turkey for missing documents. Making a statement to Cihan Haber Ajansi on the subject; Press Officer of Rosselhoznadzor Aleksey Alekseyenko said: “It was seen in the examination that necessary information about the production of the rice wasn’t on the certificate. This is violation of international regulations. While investigation has been started for the buyer company and owner of the rice, we decided to seize 48 tons of rice.”
