Increase in the wheat exports from Kazakhstan to Iran

In a press release, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said that the wheat amount to be exported to Iran will increase to 2,5 million tons with the commissioning of North-South railway line.
Coming together in September, Iranian President Ruhani and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev also discussed cooperation in the agriculture. Making a press statement after his negotiation with Ruhani, Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev gave information on the North-South railway line that is considered significantly important for the agricultural trade and was discussed in the negotiations.
Expressing that as Kazakhstan and Iran, they negotiated on building terminals on the Caspian Sea; Nazarbayev said that annual wheat export realized by Kazakhstan to Iran will increase to 2,5 million tons from 500 thousand tons with the full commissioning of North-South Railway Line. This line whose first stage was commissioned in May last year will link Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan and Iran to Bender Abbas Port. Nazarbayev stated that the part of North-South Railway Line that will reach to Gurgen region of Iran will be completed till November.
