‘Depart offers spare parts to all customers without segregating any brand’

Interview: Namık Kemal Parlak Milling is a sector where the profit margin is low and competition is tough. It is very important for millers that the yield is at maximum level and the machines operate 24/7. Therefore, after the machine quality and price, the most important criteria that millers take into consideration are spare parts and after-sales service. Investors in the milling industry are now evaluating quality, together with product reliability and after-sales services reliability. There is an ambitious brand in supplying spare parts which are needed in milling facilities and after-sales service in Turkey: Depart Spares. We spoke with Cengiz Tiryakioğlu, General Manager of Depart Spares, about the company’s journey to become one of the main players in the spare parts sector and its future goals.

Mr. Tiryakioğlu, could you please provide us with some brief background information on Depart Spares and its activities? Depart Spares started its commercial activities in August 2014 as the group company of Alapala, which has completed turnkey factory projects in more than 100 countries with its 65 years of milling sector experience, production quality and technology. As being responsible for the sales and marketing activities of all kind of spare parts of all brands mills in the global market, Depart has continuously increased its success since the first day with its corporate structure, operational processes and growing turnover since its inception with its vision and business discipline. Our goal is to provide the spare parts needed by the millers in the global market in the fastest way to ensure that production continues without interruption. We are happy to contribute to the production of our customers and grow with them. At the point we came; the fact that all the mills in the world are starting to see us as a reliable solution partner for high quality, fast parts and service. This shows that we are on the right track.

Could you tell us about the technological solutions you developed? We produce the spare parts within our structure with the latest technology. It is very important for us to work with meticulous workmanship in the production of all parts. Except for spare parts, we are trying to bring innovative technologies to the milling sector with the supportive machines we sell.

What could you say about your company’s position and role in the sector? Depart spares is in a unique position with its corporate structure and vision in the industry. It is unique to only Depart Spares to offer spare parts to customers all over the world without separating machine brands, to provide quality products at competitive prices, to reach the most demanding locations in the fastest way, to solve the customer’s problem and to implement all of these in an institutional system. Since the first day, we have been constantly striving to improve our service quality and analyze customer needs. We conduct surveys and researchs to see ourselves through the eyes of our customers. Currently, our brand perception and sectoral position are strengthened in each passing day as a result of our unique structure and our system established upon customer satisfaction.

In addition, we distribute brands such as Verdi, Siat, Filip, Rossi and Ciolini in many countries. Apart from our central warehouse in Çorum, we have warehouses that we have opened in Zambia, Mongolia and Uzbekistan in order to be closer to our customers and provide faster service. Our plans include opening a warehouse also in United Arab Emirates.

What could you tell about your technical service, after-sales service support and training that you offer for your customers? Spare Parts business runs with Çorum, Zambia, Uzbekistan. We are in close contact with the customer in order to respond to every request faster. In addition, we do plan to provide after-sales service in the warehouses we opened. In the 3rd quarter of 2019, we will start to provide service to all our customers in our warehouses in Zambia and Uzbekistan.

In which export markets are you most active? All export markets are very valuable for us. Each market contributes to our company as new perspectives and experience. Currently Middle East, South Africa, Central Europe and Southeast Asia are the mainly export markets that we are the most active in. We develop our strategic structure to strengthen and become active in all of Asia, North and South America and all of Africa. Except for the warehouses we mentioned, every market we see is a potential warehouse candidate for us. Our warehouses are very important for us in terms of regional dominance and customer satisfaction. With our vision in our new markets, we will be continuing to develop new warehouses well new dealerships.

Which regions do excite you as promising foreign markets? Especially in the African and Russian markets, there is significant potential. We want to develop business here and introduce our brand to potential customers. Due to that, we have developed our team structure in this direction. Our sales and operations team are ready to start being active in these markets.
