CESCO ships first 45 containers for UFC project in Saudi Arabia

29 October 20243 min reading

CESCO, a global leader in the design, manufacturing, and installation of grain handling, storage, and processing solutions, has announced the successful on-schedule shipment of the first 45 containers for its project with United Feed Company (UFC). This delivery, sourced from CESCO’s manufacturing facilities in Germany and Italy and SIMEZA’s silo manufacturing site in Spain, underscores CESCO’s commitment to precision, efficiency, and seamless project execution.

The total shipment will amount to more than 150 containers, with three additional shipments planned for the end of November, the end of December, and the end of February.

In collaboration with UFC, a leader in Saudi Arabia’s food industry established in 1985, this project aims to support the Kingdom’s growing poultry and livestock sectors by ensuring reliable access to high-quality plant-based animal feed. UFC’s product portfolio includes essential grains such as barley, flaked barley, and rolled barley, which play a crucial role in food security and agricultural sustainability in the region.

CESCO’s project for UFC features a state-of-the-art grain storage and handling facility designed to meet the specific needs of the region. Key elements of the project include:

  • Large-Scale Storage Capacity:
The facility includes 15 corrugated steel flat-bottom silos with a combined capacity of 205,000 tons. Additionally, a flat storage warehouse spanning 3,800 m² will store soy meal, providing essential feedstock reserves to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
  • High-Capacity Handling System:
The plant is equipped with 2x400 t/h receiving lines for grains and 2x125 t/h receiving lines for soy meal, ensuring a smooth intake of materials to meet UFC’s production needs.
  • Efficient Pre-Cleaning and Weighing:
Grains will undergo advanced pre-cleaning using rotary cleaners and magnet pipes to remove impurities. Integrated flow scales will ensure precise weighing of incoming materials, enhancing efficiency and cost control.
  • Flexible Reclaiming and Distribution System:
Materials can be directed to bulk truck loading silos, bagging lines, or returned to storage, providing flexibility to adapt to UFC’s production requirements.
  • Advanced Conveyor Technology:
The facility integrates chain conveyors, belt bucket elevators, and roller belt conveyors, which improve cleanability, reduce maintenance, and simplify transport and installation through their modular design.
  • Simultaneous Operations for Maximum Throughput:
The facility’s design enables simultaneous grain and soy meal receiving and loading, maximizing efficiency and ensuring a steady material flow.
  • Designed for Future Expansion:
The plant’s design accommodates future growth, with plans for an additional nine silos increasing capacity by 120,000 tons, bringing the total storage volume to 325,000 tons. The soy meal storage capacity will also double to 7,600 m², ensuring long-term scalability.

This collaboration with UFC reflects CESCO’s dedication to driving agricultural innovation and supporting food security initiatives in Saudi Arabia. With the successful first delivery complete, CESCO remains focused on on-time execution and outstanding service, ensuring the project stays on track.
