As one of world’s leading flour mills, Oman Flour Mills appoints consultant for franchise system developed for supporting young Omanis. As part of Oman Flour Mill’s (OFM) initiative to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs), the board of directors has approved the appointment of a consultancy group to create a franchise system and develop the concept which is expected to launch in early 2014. The company invites ambitious, young Omanis, to take advantage of this opportunity and participate. This initiative is part of OFM’s corporate social responsibility program as the objective is to encourage entrepreneurship for young Omani citizens. They will receive soft loans from financial institutions. A pilot shop will open by early 2014, which will be followed by other outlets in the franchise system. There are expected to be around 70 outlets distributed across Oman over a period of five years and ranging from kiosks in airports, hospitals, universities, to full scale café-style outlets.
