In a move that significantly expands its footprint in the plant-based ingredients market, Bunge has officially closed the acquisition of International Flavors & Fragrances’ (IFF) soy protein concentrate and lecithin business. This strategic integration reinforces Bunge’s position as a premier partner for the bakery, snack, and meat alternative sectors by providing a resilient and diverse supply chain for high-value soy derivatives.

Bunge announced the successful closing of its acquisition of the soy protein concentrate, lecithin, and soy crush businesses from International Flavors & Fragrances, Inc. (IFF). This transaction aligns with Bunge’s long-term strategy to optimize its specialty ingredients portfolio and offer end-to-end solutions for the global food and beverage industry.

The acquisition brings several industry-leading brands under the Bunge umbrella, including Response®, Alpha®, Procon®, and Solec™. These additions complement Bunge’s existing protein portfolio, creating a range of textured, functional, and powdered soy protein concentrates to support the development of higher-protein products in bakery, snacks, meats, alternative meats and more.

"We are excited to integrate IFF’s soy protein concentrate, lecithin, and crush business and welcome our new colleagues to Bunge," said Brian Douville, Vice President of Emulsifiers and Proteins at Bunge. "This transaction reinforces our commitment to be recognized by food and beverage customers as a partner of choice providing a diverse and reliable range of ingredient solutions to our global customers, supporting supply chain resilience."
