The AlPesa milling system for Atta flour

Atta flour, produced from a variety of wheats, is used in making flat breads like chapati, roti and puri - staple foods in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. To replace the rather unsanitary mill stones in the traditional chakki mills used for these flours, Bühler developed the PesaMill MDGA for the production of whole grain Atta flour and was able to successfully launch it on the markets of the Indian subcontinent as well as globally. The PesaMill, which has been developed for the industrial production of Atta flour, is available in two models, delivering a daily capacity of 75 tons or 150 tons. The PesaMill milling process is very flexible, produces an increased yield, is energy efficient, easy to service and offers higher food safety.Atta flour is typically produced in India by hundreds of small stone mills with capacities of up to 10 tons a day. Bühler has developed an alternative to these small chakki mills with the AlPesa MDGM: a compact and space-saving milling system with an hourly capacity of 700 kg.

The AlPesa milling system is based on the proven technology of the PesaMill and comprises a high-compression mill, a plansifter, a bagging station and a switch cabinet with control system. AlPesa can be operated stand-alone or it can be integrated into an existing mill. The AlPesa milling system is a cost-effective solution for entering into production of perfectly hygienic Atta flours with authentic taste.

Over 40 million people from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh live outside their homelands and, up until now, have had to buy their traditional Atta flour from their former home country. With the global version of the AlPesa milling system, Bühler has made it possible to supply these members of the Indian diaspora with Atta flour.
