The Spanish silo manufacturer celebrates four decades of innovation and excellence in grain storage with a moving ceremony honouring its visionary founder.
On 5 June 2024, Symaga, one of the global leaders in silo manufacturing, commemorated its 40th anniversary with a special celebration at its headquarters in Villarta de San Juan, Spain. The event brought together customers, suppliers, institutional partners, and collaborators from around the world for a day that paid tribute not only to the company’s achievements, but especially to its founder, Alfonso Garrido Muñoz, whose legacy continues to shape the company’s identity and values.
The anniversary began with a guided tour of Symaga’s cutting-edge production facilities. Attendees witnessed firsthand the company’s ongoing commitment to technological innovation, process automation, and high-quality standards that have earned Symaga a strong global reputation in the grain storage industry.
Following the tour, guests gathered for a formal commemorative tribute. The event was hosted by journalist Mariló Leal and featured a keynote speech by Patricia Franco, Minister of Economy, Business and Employment of Castilla-La Mancha. Franco highlighted Symaga’s significant role in fostering industrial development and employment in the region over the past four decades.

HONOURING A VISIONARY LEADER
The emotional highlight of the day was a heartfelt tribute by Ana, Marta, and Alfonso Garrido Parejo, children of the late founder. Speaking on behalf of the Garrido family, they remembered their father as a man of "vision, courage, and tireless dedication," and unveiled a commemorative bust in his honour.
A special tribute video followed, chronicling Alfonso Garrido Muñoz’s professional journey and personal values — inspiring attendees with a portrait of a determined entrepreneur whose legacy continues to guide the company. As Ana concluded her speech: “And coming from the land of Don Quixote, what better example of a Quixotic figure than the ingenious nobleman Don Alfonso de La Mancha.”
The evening continued at Quinta Monteguerra, where guests enjoyed a festive dinner, a captivating flamenco performance, and a drone light show that illuminated the night sky — a symbolic closing to a day filled with emotion, gratitude, and unity.
Symaga also released two official videos to commemorate the occasion:
