Miller and BBM among the media partners of Ipack-Ima

  The 24th edition of IPACK-IMA was held at Fiera Milano from 29 May to 1 June. The 2018 show received over 68,000 visitors. Miller Magazine and BBM were among the media partners of the exhibition.bbm The food and non-food processing and packaging companies showcased their latest solutions and technologies at Ipack-Ima 2018, at Fiera Milano from 29 May to 1 June. Simultaneously to Ipack Ima, and in the same Exhibition Center, 4 other important events took place: Meat-Tech, PLAST, PRINT4ALL and INTRALOGISTICA ITALIA. The 1,503 exhibitors welcomed the large numbers of visitors arriving in Milan in a net exhibition space of more than 62,000 square meters, 11% larger than at the last edition of the show. Growth in numbers of non-Italian exhibitors was particularly significant (+17%). A total of 68,802 visitors arrived at the Fiera Milano exhibition center during the four days of the show, more than double the number who attended in 2015. The reversal of the Ipack-Ima and Meat-Tech’s fortunes was underscored by the strong international attendance: a total of 18,577 international visitors from 146 countries, 27% of the total and two and a half times more than in 2015. Europe was the top area of residence of visitors, accounting for 57% of all international arrivals (particularly Germany, Switzerland, France and Spain), while one visitor out of every four came from Eastern Europe. Some 15% of international visitors came from the Mediterranean region, (Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia were the best-represented countries). Asia was the second largest continent in terms of visitor origins accounting for more than 20% of international attendees (China, India, Turkey and the Russian Federation were the best-represented countries), followed by the Americas with around 10% (most significantly USA, Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina). BÜHLER UNVEILS OVER 20 DIGITAL INNOVATIONS At the Ipack Ima trade fair in Milano, Bühler presented over 20 digital services to its customers. These solutions are designed to make food safer, to save energy, and to prevent waste. Amongst many digital solutions, Bühler has launched two image-processing IoT solutions, GrainiGo for corn and TotalSense for rice. The solutions allow the customers to assess the raw material quality and trends, compare performance, and store data for future analysis and traceability. With PastaSense, pasta makers are now able to monitor the entire process from raw materials to the end product on the basis of sensor technology, eliminating the need for costly manual checks and records. Bühler also showcased its revolutionary LumoVision optical sorting technology at the Ipack Ima. LumoVision is, for the very first time, able to identify and sort out corn that has been contaminated with aflatoxin. IDMA PROMOTION IN MILANO Parantez Group’s publications Miller Magazine and BBM were among the media partners of Ipack-Ima. During the four days of the fair, Miller and BBM magazines were distributed to visitors. Muhammed F. Akatay, General Director of the Parantez Group’s International Sales and Marketing, said that he was satisfied with the visitor’s interest in the magazines. He also added they found an opportunity for promotional activities of IDMA Exhibition, the international fair for milling machinery, cereals and pulses processing technologies, to be held between 20 and 23 March 2019 in Istanbul Expo Center. Akatay said many company managers he met in Milano, promised to participate in IDMA. Akatay pointed out that promotion activities in Italy will continue in Italia through the local agent.
