Swiss technology group Bühler and Jordanian Al-Hazaa Investment Group celebrated the opening of the Red Sea Flour (Ayla Mill) in Aqaba, Jordan. With the opening of Ayla Mill, powered by Bühler’s state-of-the-art technologies, both companies take another major step in addressing challenges in food security. Products from the new mill will be supplied to customers in Jordan and other countries in the region.

At its main Swiss site in Uzwil, Bühler is investing in reducing its CO2 emissions. To this end, the company is building a test center together with its Belgian partner Vyncke for recovering energy from biomass generated by Bühler’s Application & Training Centers at the site. The facility will also be used for demonstration and testing purposes with customers and for further development of integrated energy efficiency solutions. “The Bühler-Vyncke test center is an important step for us in implementing our sustainability goals and is intended to serve as an example for energy recovery options in food and feed production,” says Johannes Wick, CEO Business Grains & Food at Bühler.

Bühler is investing a double-digit million Swiss Franc amount in a new Grain Innovation Center (GIC) at its site in Uzwil. The GIC will replace the old technology center, which was built in the 1950s and no longer fulfils the requirements of a state-of-the art innovation hub.

Swiss Bühler Group has launched its latest optical sorter for wheat, rye, oats, grains, coffee and pulses: the SORTEX H SpectraVision. Powered by brand new MerlinAi sorting algorithms, the solution pushes optical sorting to the next level of usability, performance, and product traceability.

Swiss technology group Bühler and Ardent Mills, a leading flour milling and ingredient company headquartered in Denver, United States, celebrated the opening of Ardent Mills’ new Port Redwing Mill in Gibsonton, Florida. The mill, powered by the most advanced milling technologies from Bühler, is already in operation and contributes to both companies’ commitments to innovation and sustainable development within the food ecosystem.

On March 18, 2022, Bühler celebrated the 50th anniversary of establishing its business in South Africa. The country is of particular importance to Bühler for its customers and Bühler plans to expand its business there as well as to other African nations. To commemorate the anniversary, a special event, celebrating milestones and special memories between Bühler, its customers and staff, was held in Johannesburg.
