World wheat flour trade is set to decline for a second straight year in 2025/26, dropping to 16.0 million tonnes ((wheat equivalent), a four-year low, as structurally weaker demand in Iraq and Sudan reflects a broader shift toward domestic milling and wheat grain imports.

The Brazilian government cut import tariffs for several categories of goods, focusing on food staples in an attempt to reduce consumer inflation. Import tariffs on beef, chicken, corn, wheat flour, wheat, cookies and bakery products were eliminated through the end of the year.

Al Ghurair Foods’ Serendib Flour Mills launched the new product in Sri Lanka, building on its crucial role as a major wheat flour producer. Launch comes as Sri Lankan government takes measures to avoid country-wide food crisis.
