In a demonstration of the commitment of businesses to be at the forefront of tackling the climate crisis to protect and restore nature and biodiversity, and close the gap in wealth distribution, 1,000 representatives of the world’s leading companies from 95 countries gathered in Uzwil at the Bühler Group’s global headquarters this week to discuss the urgent need for business to come together to accelerate the transition towards sustainability.
Following on from Ukraine’s Chairmanship, the International Grains Council has appointed Dr. Florence Kaibi, Minister Counsellor and Agriculture Attaché, Kenya Embassy to Belgium, Mission to the EU, OACPS and WCO, as its Chairperson for 2022/23.
“The equilibrium prices for wheat could be 19% above pre-conflict levels if Ukraine fully loses its capacity to export and 34% higher if in addition Russian exports are 50% of normal amounts,” the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) said.
Swiss Bühler Group and Flottweg SE from Germany have signed a cooperation agreement to offer full value chain solutions to customers in the plant-based protein market. Combining Flottweg’s wet fractionation expertise and Bühler’s dry process expertise allows the two companies jointly to offer integrated solutions and optimized processes with the highest yields, reduced environmental impact, and best quality protein isolates.
