Strengthening its international trade fair identity, IDMA opened its doors for the second time in the strategic Russian market. Kicking off at Crocus Expo, IDMA Russia showcased a strong presence of Turkish and Asian brands and welcomed visitors for three days.

Born in the fertile lands of wheat and setting the pace of milling for more than 20 years in Istanbul’s bustling exhibition halls, IDMA has now turned a new page in Russia’s dynamic market. The Russian edition of International Flour, Feed, Corn, Semolina, Rice, Bulghur Milling Machinery & Pulses, Pasta, Biscuit Technologies Exhibition opened its doors for the second time at Moscow’s Crocus Expo International Exhibition Center from September 25 to 27. The opening ceremony brought together global industry players, with Turkish and Asian participants standing out in particular.

With its leading role in wheat production and exports, Russia remains indispensable for the grain processing industry. Despite regional challenges, rising food demand and the need for sustainable production continue to make Moscow a strategic meeting point. In this setting, IDMA Russia offered local and international companies opportunities to present innovative solutions. Turkish milling giants drew attention with their high-efficiency machinery, while representatives from China and South Korea also made a strong impact in an exhibition that reaches across the vast Russian-speaking region. With high-level exhibitors and visitors, the three-day event is set to shape business connections and trends.

Adding further momentum was the XXIII. International Business Conference, hosted by the Russian Union of Flour Mills and Grain Enterprises and the International Industrial Academy, which provided academic insights into the industry’s economic scale and potential.

“RUSSIA IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT COUNTRIES FOR OUR INDUSTRY”

Speaking at the opening, HAGE Group Chairman and IDMA CEO M. Ali Kalkan underlined the exhibition’s strategic value: “Russia is one of the most important countries for our industry. The fact that we are successfully holding the second edition of IDMA Russia here today is proof of that. With its position as the world leader in wheat exports, Russia will remain one of the main centers that the grain processing industry looks to. This shows us that IDMA Russia will continue to grow stronger and further cement its position.”

RUSSIAN AND TURKISH INDUSTRY LEADERS AT IDMA RUSSIA

The opening ceremony was highlighted by the participation of high-level Turkish and Russian representatives. Among them were Turkey Flour Industrialists’ Federation (TUSAF) Chairman Mehmet Mesut Çakmak, Özmen Flour Chairman and TUSAF Honorary President Erhan Özmen, TUSAF Vice Chairman and Dicle Flour Industrialists’ Association Chairman Veysi Duyan, TUSAF Board Members Tugay Lermioğlu and Ahmet Ergin Okandeniz, Russian Union of Flour Mills and Grain Enterprises Chairman Igor Sviridenko, International Industrial Academy Rector Olga Ilina, Turkey’s Trade Counsellor Ömer Kerman, IDMA Advisory Board Member Edip Hilmi Aktaş, Central Anatolian Young Businessmen Federation’s Mehmet Demokan Eren, Özmermer Flour Chairman Mustafa Özmermer, along with many other guests. Following the ceremony, Turkish and Russian representatives toured the exhibition area, visiting booths and exchanging views with exhibitors presenting their latest technologies.

IDMA RUSSIA MOVING FORWARD WITH CONFIDENCE

First launched in Moscow in 2022, IDMA Russia has quickly evolved into a steadily growing platform. Exhibits at Crocus Expo ranged from energy-efficient mills to grain storage systems and measurement and analysis equipment. Visitors from across Russia and neighboring countries expressed satisfaction with the new business connections made, while exhibitors once again observed the strong import potential of the Russian grain processing industry.
