According to the report of UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) as part of “The Global Informatıon and Early Warning System on Food and Agriculture”, Turkey gained new markets in flour export in 2015. Sudan, Angola and Yemen are among these markets.

UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) released its new report that it prepared as part of “The Global Informatıon and Early Warning System on Food and Agriculture” on 4 December. According to the report, the main markets of Turkey are still Iraq and Syria. However, Turkey which is one of the leading wheat flour exporters has seen that its export amount decrease since the safety issues in the region increased transportation costs. Flour exporters who lost their markets in Indonesia and Philippines have also gained in Sudan, Angola and Yemen.
FAO report, which announced that grain consumption of Turkey exceeded the average level in 2015 and increased 11 percent compared to 2014, states that it expects a decrease in grain imports, an increase in exports in 2015/16 season and stated that total price index has decreased.
