The status of flour fortification in Jordan

Jordan has been fortifying flour for more than 20 years, the government controls and subsidizes a certain flour fortification program, that is the Mowahad flour, which is used for flatbread. The fortification of flatbread flour consists of adding essential vitamins and minerals to flour, as many people in Jordan are suffering from deficiencies of these nutrients, therefore the government chose to fortify one of the primary staples of the Jordanian diet, which is the flatbread flour due to its high prevalence among Jordanians and its high demand, and because it is the most widely consumed wheat flour type in Jordan.
