Russian flour milling congress highlights industry challenges and future prospects

The XVI Congress of Flour and Cereal Milling Enterprises of Russia took place on September 26-27, 2024, at the International Industrial Academy in Moscow. More than 355 industry leaders, managers, and specialists attended, including representatives from Turkish flour milling equipment manufacturers.


As part of the event, the XXII International Business Conference ‘Mill-2024’ and the Annual General Meeting of the Russian Union of Flour and Cereal Milling Enterprises were held, providing a platform for discussing the industry's future and addressing key challenges. 

Prominent industry sponsors supported the congress, with Alapala, Unormak, IDMA, IMAS, and Alapros serving as gold sponsors, and Melnik JSC, IPP CJSC, Erkaya, and Golden Grain as silver sponsors.

The Mill-2024 conference, inaugurated by Vyacheslav Butkovsky, President of the International Industrial Academy, covered vital issues facing Russian flour millers, including state regulation, export strategies, and cooperation with the baking and pasta sectors. Participants also discussed grain quality assessments for the new harvest and market forecasts for 2024-2025. Other discussions during the event included trends and forecasts for the grain, flour, and bakery markets, grain traceability systems, and modernizing grain storage and processing facilities.
