Rice’s DNA fingerprint revealed

dna The work having been carried out for two years by the Department of Genetics and Bioengineering of the Faculty of Engineering of Trakya University has resulted in the identification of paddy cultivars grown in Turkey and produced in the world market. It has been stated that the identification of the rice will prevent the sale of fraudulent rice seeds and rice paddy and thus, the rice bought at the market shelves will be easily identified by the citizens.

Department of Genetics and Bioengineering of the Faculty of Engineering of Trakya University’s instructor Assoc. Dr. Semra Hasançebi has said that the "DNA fingerprint" of the rice varieties has been revealed as a result of detailed studies.
