Entering into Turkish baked goods market in 2016 with an investment of 33 million euros, Belgian La Lorraine decided to make another investment. The company will invest 20 million euros in 2018.

Stating that La Lorraine is a good example for other foreign investors, Burak Deniz, the General Manager of La Lorraine Turkey, said that, “Turkey has been through a delicate period in which everybody feels that they have to do more. As La Lorraine brand, since 2016, we reached six thousand five hundred points at hotel, restaurant, coffee chains, and supermarkets which we name as HORECA and we served qualified, value-added and quality products. We brought vitality and dynamism to our sector. Our brand is ambitious particularly at bread and baked goods, and customers loved these products. At this point, we are determined to make an investment in research and development and our facilities and also to develop categories in which we have been active. In the light of these developments, we decided to make 20 million euros investment with our confidence into our country and sector. We hope that this investment will be beneficial to our country’s economy and sector.”
WE AIM ONE HUNDRED PERCENT
GROWTH IN 2018 AS WELL
Deniz noted that the company would double the production of bread. “The number of workers will increase to 450 in La Lorraine and its partners as we will employ 70 people more thanks to our investment in our facility and inventory. With our total investment, we aim to grow by one hundred percent in 2018 as well,” he maintained.
The general manager said the company has a production facility in Manisa while it has distribution centers in İstanbul, Antalya, İzmir, Bursa, Ankara, Adana, Çanakkale, Diyarbakır, Alanya, Bodrum, Fethiye, Marmaris, and Konya while the company has exported its products to different countries with its facility in Turkey. “As La Lorraine, we planned to realize export to the Middle East from Turkey. While making an investment into Turkey, that’s why we chose Manisa, which is close to Izmir, thereby a seaport,” he said.
