653-ton first flour export from Turkey to Brazil

As a result of the activities of Turkish Flour Yeast and Ingredients Promotion Group for increasing the export in the sector, first flour export to Brazil in the Republic history is realized.
Turkish Flour Yeast and Ingredients Promotion Group is established in the leadership of the Ministry of Economy and the Central Anatolian Exporters Union (OAIB) in order to make the industry more active in the world markets. Organizations such as trade delegations, participation in trade fairs, recruitment committee held by this group have opened the doors of the markets which are considered as “not to be able to be entered” by Turkish exporters. As a result of the activities of Turkish Flour Yeast and Ingredients Promotion Group for increasing the export in the sector, 653-ton first flour export to Brazil in the Republic history is realized.
Reminding that Argentina is the largest supplier of Brazil in flour export, Chairman of Turkish Flour Yeast and Ingredients Promotion Group Turgay Ünlü said in his speech: “We were informed that the import from Argentina decreased due to the production decrease in this country and thus prices increased and the import was made mainly from USA. After the organizations we held, Turkish flour exporters made contact with Brazilian companies and realized totally 653 tons wheat flour to this country for the first time in Republic history.”
2,5 BILLION-DOLLAR EXPORT IN 2023
Emphasizing that total wheat flour export of Turkey reached to almost 654 million US Dollars by the end of September 2013; Ünlü reminded that as the world leader in wheat flour export, Turkey ranked first in world wheat flour export with approximately 2 million tons and 842 million dollars in 2012 just like in the previous years. Turgay Ünlü expressed that their export goals in Turkey’s 2023 export strategy for flour and flour products sector including wheat flour is 2,5 billion dollars in total.
