20 million-dollar grain storage from global commodity trader

Netherlands-based global commodity merchandiser and agricultural products processing expert Louis Dreyfus Commodities LLC will establish a new grain storage and barge loading facility at USA’s Rosedale Port. The Rosedale-Bolivar County Port Commission and the Bolivar County Board of Supervisors have entered into a lease agreement with a subsidiary of Louis Dreyfus Commodities LLC for the construction and operation of a new grain storage and barge loading facility at the Port of Rosedale. The company expects to invest more than $20 million in constructing the facility, which will provide a new outlet for local farmers to sell corn and soybeans to the company for subsequent export at its newly commissioned terminal at the Port of Greater Baton Rouge, La., with an annual capacity of more than five million tons. Louis Dreyfus Commodities expects the Rosedale Port terminal to create up to 10 new jobs by the time it is estimated to begin its operation in the summer of 2014. Louis Dreyfus Commodities has more than 160 years of experience, whose portfolio includes oilseeds, grains, feed, rice, freight, finance, juice, cotton, coffee, sugar, metals, dairy and fertilizers and inputs.
